The CAT1 Learning Program is designed to assist participants at every possible stage. For every CAT1 performance measure, there is a detailed instructional unit.
This one-to-one relationship enhances the learning opportunity. Each performance measure and each instructional unit exclusively address the demands of one objective.
Instructional activity materials within the CAT1 system have the look and feel of help files, manuals, guides, and Web-based information.
The CAT1 Learning Program is flexible:
- Instructional activities can be selected to enhance the depth and breadth of understanding of a particular area. This is the just-in-time instructional mode that is diagnostic-prescriptive.
- Participants can use the instructional units as a review prior to beginning the assessment.
- Participants can start the assessment, determine that more information is needed, and use the learning program to review or learn the procedures needed to complete the performance measures.
- In the event that a performance measure is completed unsuccessfully, participants are led to an instructional unit containing a number of performance-related instructional activities.
- 100+ tutorials with step-by-step directions and color graphics
- Just-in-time learning feature
- Direct correlation to the six essential standards
- Arranged in units with multiple activities
- Forums for participants
- Full glossary of technical terms to increase learning opportunities
- Learning program table of contents
- Self-directed learning program
Supplemental activities provide additional learning opportunities and are incorporated at the discretion of the system administrator.
